Youth Services Programs & Events

In addition to our regular weekly and monthly programming, the Children’s Room offers occasional special programming for local children and their caregivers. Special programs are advertised in the Library’s monthly newsletter, website calendar, and often on our Facebook page.

WEEKLY PROGRAMS

Mondays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Social Play Date
Every Monday Youth Services will have the story time room doors open and our toddler toys out for two hours of self-led play, coloring, and socializing with any families that would like to gather. All ages are welcome, though our toys are best suited for infants and toddlers.

Tuesdays, 10 a.m. | Toddler Time
Our lap sit program helps your child (ages 1-3) develop language and literacy skills by singing songs, sharing books, and learning nursery rhymes, while interacting with other children and caregivers.

Wednesdays, 4 p.m. | Preschool Story Time
Join us on Wednesday afternoons for 20-25 minutes of stories, songs, and social fun. Stories and structure are geared to children ages 3-5 and their caregivers.

Thursdays, 10 a.m. | Thoughtful Thursdays
Come join us as we share stories, songs, and fun for children (ages 3-7) with their parents or caregivers. Thoughtful Thursdays are all about exploring topics like identifying & managing feelings, learning techniques to focus & calm down, expressing gratitude, and more. Calming activities include yoga, mindful breathing, and arts & crafts.

Thursdays, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. | LEGO Time
Free-form LEGO build for children (ages 5 and older).

Fridays, 10 a.m. | Incredible Infants Story Time
Caregivers and babies (birth to 18 months) are invited to an interactive session of songs, stories and fun followed by open play. Lay the groundwork for early literacy and connect with other families as we celebrate your Incredible Infant!
